Keyword research is one of the most important and effective strategies in the internet marketing field.
Ranking high for relevant keywords such as psychic reading will positively influence the success of your website. But what tool can you use for this purpose?
In this post, I’m going to introduce Ubersuggest, Neil Patel’s free tool you can use for keyword research to boost your SEO and PPC.

How Ubersuggest Works
With a clean, neat design, this tool is really simple to use. No registration needed.
First, type a keyword or phrase in the proper field.
Then, choose the desired filter. The default one is “Web“, but the following ones are also available:
- Image
- Shopping
- YouTube
- News
The last field is the language/geographic area. The default is “English” and “United States“, but you may want to specify a different idiom and country.
For example, if you wanted to create a website about psychic reading, you could research for it and found out that the search volume is high (27,100) and so is the SEO difficulty (59). You would need more than 7,000 backlinks to rank in the top 10 search results pages.
Now, let’s take an example based on my experience.
One of my most successful niche websites was nepetacataria.org, built around “catnip” and “nepeta cataria” keywords.
For this reason, I tried to look for more keyword ideas, using Ubersuggest.
The search result for the “catnip” keyword told me that:
- Volume is 74000
- CPC is $ 0,62
- Competition is 0,75
Ubersuggest found 299 keyword ideas:
If you select a specific keyword, you can also get additional data, like the searches graph, with the details for each month and the number of clicks, divided into organic and paid:
On the left side of the page tool, you can use additional filters, such as:
- Finding specific keywords within search results
- Excluding/Including keyword suggestions from Google Keyword Planner and Google Suggest
- Adding Negative Keywords to exclude the desired words from the results
There’s also a nice option at the end, where you can copy, select all and export to CSV the keywords:

What I really like about this tool is that is simple and quick to use.
Do you need to get more insights on a specific keyword? Just type it in the search field and hit the “Look Up” button, to get a fast result.
Whether it is for your search engine optimization or for a PPC campaign, you’ll get a lot of data, including search volume, seasonality and cost per click data.
Keyword Suggestions
Are you working on a new article and you need more ideas?
Do you want to build a niche site and you are looking for more keyword suggestions?
Use Ubersuggest and you will get them for free. Both single keywords or long-tail phrases are allowed. You’ll receive many interesting insights, including volume, competition, and even seasonal trends for each of your keyword.
You may also want to use the filters, for a more targeted search.
Keyword Difficulty
This is another juicy feature.
Do you need to know how expensive a keyword is? Neil Patel’s tool will show you how realistic it is to go after competitive keywords and phrases.
It’s important to understand how hard will be that specific keyword to rank organically.
Competitive Intelligence
This feature will show you who is ranking in search engines for a specific keyword, or who is investing money in PPC campaigns.
The quick search will give you an overview on all of your competitors and even show you their ad copy.
Final Words
Ubersuggest is a nice and clean tool. Super quick and simple to use.
I tested it for different keywords and found interesting ideas to improve my niche sites. I’ll definitely use it, when searching for suggestions for new niche websites.
The search is really fast and gives, for free, tons of useful data to work on.

I remember how this tool was before Neil Patel bought it and made it his own. It didn’t have as many features and it didn’t give you as many insights on keywords.
I like what he has done with this keyword research tool. I could say that this is the only keyword research one should use for better search engine optimization. You really want to keep things simple when it comes to SEO.

Nice article on a very useful tool. Keyword research is a necessity today and there are several ways to do it but a tool like ubersuggest is definitely a great help. It is quite easy to use.

How on earth does it get the actual search volume for each term? Google removed the ability to see that (unless you’re running a campaign)… I’m definitely going to have to check it out for the fact that it can do that one thing alone!
This tool is surprisingly awesome. I’ve been using it for a long time earlier before Neil Patel acquired it. It even became way better than it was before under Neil’s ownership.
While it gives nice information, I’ve found KWFinder. It’s paid, but it gives very relative information with great keyword suggestion tool. KWFinder combined with SEMRush could drive very good results and a nice income flow.

Ubersuggest is a great SEO tool, this was the first tool on which I learnt to do SEO for my blog. Also its pricing is so good that beginner bloggers can easily afford it who don’t have money. I also follow Neil Patel on youtube. He is a great guy. He is the one who has taught me SEO and even he doesn’t know this.
The finest SEO tool right now for me is Ubersuggest. The site audit feature is what I use the most. It helps my SEO process and is quite beneficial.
