  • Advanced Targeting: Use detailed audience segments to reach the right people.
  • A/B Testing: Test different ad creatives and strategies to find the most effective ones.

Using Facebook to promote your website and drive traffic to the products and services that you’re an affiliate for is one of the best ways to quickly generate income.

However, many people promote their websites on Facebook in the wrong ways, which usually leads to them being labeled as a spammer.

There are quite a few different ways you can drive traffic to your site from Facebook and make money from your affiliate offers, without developing the reputation.

So before you start getting blocked from your favorite pages, or tossed out of your favorite groups onto the curve, follow these suggestions, implement the strategies I’m giving you, and then use Facebook to drive massive amounts of traffic to your affiliate links.

First, Build Your Own FB Page

Ok, there’s a bit of a caveat to this one.  Facebook has recently implemented changes to their algorithm that makes it harder for people that have liked a page to actually see the content that the page is producing.

With them limiting the organic reach of pages on their platform, many people have resorted to “boosting” posts and paying for advertising to increase their reach.  This is one way to do it, however there are cheaper ways you can make sure people that have liked your page will see the content you’re producing.

The best way to make sure people are seeing the posts that you’re publishing is to get them to interact with your posts, either by commenting, liking, or sharing them. As your engagement rate goes up, your organic reach will increase.

However, if you’re not able to increase your organic reach, you can boost your posts to make sure they’re getting out to your audience, while also targeting new audiences that are similar to the organic audience you’ve already built.

Start Your Own Group

Facebook Groups are the new Pages, and allow you to reach more of your audience without being forced to pay for it.  While this may not always be the case, for the time being Groups are doing great, and are fairly easy to grow.

Most groups are growing organically, however there are some marketers that are paying for boosted posts that contain links to their groups, and are seeing a massive influx of new users as a result.

When you publish a new piece of content to your group, you can almost guarantee that at least 40% of the people in your group will see it, where less than 10% of the people that have liked your page will see it.

You can’t just publish content, though, and hope to get the results that you’re looking for.

You may want to read the following post, which includes a list of the most popular Facebook groups I joined: Unleash the Power of Social Media Marketing – Useful Resources Mentioned Here.

Provide Useful Tutorials

If you want to maintain the reach, whether on your Page or in your Group, you’re going to need to make sure that you’re publishing content that people actually want to see, click on, and read.

Then you can parlay your content into your affiliate links and connect the two together so you can eventually make sales.

People love original, awe inspiring, emotion inducing content, and are more than happy to click it and read it, but if they feel like you’re being a marketer, or trying to pitch your products and services, they’re going to turn off and make it harder for you to make the sale.

To give you an example of what I’m talking about, let’s assume you’re running a Page or Group based around motorcycle racing enthusiasts.

You can create a piece of content that teaches them how to change out the spark plugs and wires on their motorcycle.  Since you know that the people on your Page or Group are going to be interested in learning how to do it, you can create an in-depth tutorial for them.

Then, as you work through the tutorial, you can create links to products that they may use while they’re changing out their spark plugs and wires, and a portion of the people reading the tutorial will click the links to take your recommendations.

As long as you’re providing value first, and not making the tutorial specifically about promoting your affiliate links, you’ll have a much easier time promoting the content across other Pages and Groups, too.

You also won’t be labeled as a spammer.  People understand that marketers are trying to make money, and if you bake the affiliate links into the content inconspicuously, you don’t have to worry about getting tossed out of other Groups, or blocked on Pages that you’re trying to share on.

Partner With Pages that Have a Built-in Audience

One of the best ways to grow your own Group or Page, or to work out deals with Page and Group owners is to partner with them, and then cut them in on the profits that you’re generating.

Many owners and administrators are open to the idea of you providing valuable content to their audience, especially if you’re going to share the profits with them.

You can’t just reach out to the owners and suggest this arrangement, though.  You’re going to need to build a relationship with them, and show that you are truly interested in providing valuable content, instead of out to simply make a quick buck off their audience and then move onto the next.

This strategy works best if you already have a Page or Group with a built-in audience.  You can cross-promote each other’s groups, and then not have to share in the profits with the owners of the Pages or Groups you’re trying to promote your content in.

Engage People That Comment, Like and Share

When you’re promoting content in other people’s groups, you’re going to end up getting people that like, comment, and share the posts you’re publishing.

When this happens, you want to make sure that you’re taking the time to engage with them, at least by responding to their comments.  You can go one step further and reach out to the people that shared the post, asking them what it was that they specifically enjoyed about it.

By engaging and replying to comments, you’re going to leave a mark on the people you interact with, so they’ll be more inclined to comment, like, and share your content when you publish new posts in the future.

Then, after you’ve done this a few times, your reach in that specific group will go up substantially, because Facebook’s algorithms will see that people are enjoying what you’re posting, and want to help you reach even more people, without forcing you to pay for it.

Engaging with the users that are interacting with your posts also helps the Page and Group owners out, because you’re increasing their reach by increasing the engagement with the posts on their Group or Page.

As their engagement goes up, their organic reach will go up, which will make them more inclined to let you stick around and continue promoting other content that you’ve created.  This is one of the best ways to build a long-term relationship with the owners that you’re working with.

Use Content to Pull FB Users Onto Your Email List

If you want to take a long-term approach to promoting your content on Facebook, instead of sending the users to a page or blog post that contains your affiliate links, you should try using Facebook to send those same visitors to a landing page that collects their email.

This strategy is slightly harder to implement than sharing an actionable, valuable blog post, because Group and Page owners know that you’re only doing it to collect emails, but if you’re able to solve problems that people in their audience are having, you can still pull the strategy off.

By pulling the visitors onto a landing page, and enticing them to subscribe to your email list, you’ll have many more opportunities to follow up with them later, without having to pay Facebook for the clicks, or worry about not reaching all of your audience.

Safeguarding your subscribers from changes in Facebook’s algorithms is a smart way to build your business, because even though Groups are a great way to get in front of people who are interested in what you’re offering, it’s in Facebook’s best interests to eventually limit the reach of Groups so that marketers are forced to pay for it, instead.

Facebook Ads Are Great for Growing Your Email List

If you’re the type of marketer that prefers to taking growing your list into your own hands, one of the best ways to do it is by paying Facebook to get your offer (or your landing page) in front of people who you know are interested in it.

Before you start spending money on Facebook Ads, you’re going to want to make sure you have a proper sales funnel in place, along with an autoresponder series that will help you start generating revenue as soon as Facebook starts delivering traffic.

Having a sales funnel and an autoresponder will help offset the costs of the Facebook Ads, or at least help reduce the actual expense of the ad campaigns, so that you can spend more money on traffic and grow your list without hitting a ceiling on your budget too quickly.

Paying for ads guarantees your reach, and as long as you’re targeting specific interests and researching your market properly to ensure that you’re getting the ads in front of the right people, you can grow your list far faster with an ad than you can by promoting the content in Groups and Pages.

Don’t Promote “Junk” and “Spam”

I gave you an example of creating valuable tutorials so that you are actually helping your audience, instead of simply taking from the Groups and Pages that you’re posting to.  Creating valuable content is actually easier than promoting junk.

If you’re not familiar with the type of “junk” that I’m talking about, go spend some time in a few popular groups that aren’t great at keeping the spam out.

You’ll see constant new posts from people who never interact with other people in the group, and only post pages to the content on their blog.  The content that is usually a straight-up sales pitch for some shady products or services.

These people’s lives are usually short-lived in the Groups, because once the administrators realize what’s going on, they’ll ban the users.

Instead of finding yourself getting banned, don’t publish junk content that doesn’t help anyone but you (by way of an affiliate link click) or constantly spam groups that have a no-spam and no-promotion policy in place.

Make Sure Your Retargeting Pixel is Installed and Functioning

Even if you’re not paying for advertising to grow your Group or Page, you may want to in the future.  This is especially true if Facebook implements new algorithm changes that limit the organic reach of Pages even further, or reduce the effectiveness of Groups.

A retargeting pixel, if you’re unfamiliar, allows you to build a custom audience inside of Facebook that you can advertise to later, for much cheaper than you would pay for advertising to the same people if they had never visited your website before.

When someone lands on your website, the pixel will fire off, and the person’s computer will have a cookie placed on it.

Then, when you go to create a new advertising campaign on Facebook, you can use the custom audience that has been built from people who have already visited your site, and spend substantially less for each click that you generate.

As long as you’re focused on providing value first, and building long-term relationships with the owners of the Pages and Groups that you’re trying to promote your content through, while making sure that you’re doing what you can to collect an email address instead of letting the visitor bounce off your site, you can use Facebook to push a massive influx of traffic into your site.

It’s safe to say that Facebook marketing has exploded in recent years. Today, many businesses from large to small has a Facebook page as they understand the value of it as well as what it can bring to their business.

Here are some statistics about the small businesses from the United States shared by Dan Levy, Director of small business at Facebook:

  • There are more than 2 billion connections between local businesses and people.

  • On an average week, there are over 645 million views of, and 13 million comments on, local business Facebook Pages.

  • Approximately 70% of monthly active users in the U.S. and Canada are connected to a local business on Facebook.

As great as it sounds, marketing on Facebook is far from being easy. Many business owners make mistakes as they do not try to understand how it works and merely treats it like a promotional site for their business.

facebook marketing train wreck
Here are some marketing mistakes businesses are making on Facebook.

1. Promoting Too Much

When people log into Facebook, they aren’t logging in to see yet another advertisement from a brand. They log in to connect and to keep in touch with their friends and family.

As a business owner and an avid Facebook user, I don’t want my newsfeed to be bombarded by advertisements all the time, but it’s okay if I were to come across a promotion that will be really useful to me. The useful promotion that made it onto my newsfeed is a result of some very good target marketing.

What many businesses don’t know is that IF they promote too much, people will engage less and less with them. Edgerank, an algorithm developed by Facebook years ago that determines what appears in the newsfeed will push these pages away from newsfeeds that are non-responsive – as it deems it irrelevant and does not add value to the reader.

Businesses CAN promote, however they should keep a good ration between content which engages and adds value for their fans, and business promotions.

2. Not using a Facebook third party app for Facebook Contest

The second mistake most businesses make on Facebook is launching a contest without a third party app. In the promotional guideline written by Facebook, it states that companies aren’t allowed to organize contest such as

  • Like to win
  • Comment to win
  • Share to win

bad facebook contest
Companies who are interested to organize a Facebook contest are actually required to use a third party platform such as Binkd.

Many businesses don’t know that these rules apply to them, and many of them tend to think that organizing a “like to win” contest is acceptable after seeing one of their competitors doing it.

What they don’t know is these contests put their page at risk of getting removed by Facebook.

3. Automating by connecting Twitter account

Connecting your Twitter account to your Facebook page is one of the worst moves you can make.

That is because not only will you be over-posting, but most of your fans are not going to like it as your posts will lose its personal touch on both platforms.

don't automate twitter on facebook

Don’t get me wrong, it’s perfectly alright to automate your Facebook pages! And if you want to automate it, I recommend using platforms like PostRocket or Buffer.

These tools will actually post your content at optimal hours to maximize the most out of your Facebook marketing.

4. Buying Facebook likes

While the idea of getting 1000 fans of $5 on fiverr may seem like a good idea, it’s actually not. That is because those accounts are most probably fake accounts created using a bot that will only like your page and will not engage with you FOREVER.

I believe there will be more harm than good as it affects your Facebook Edgerank and you’ll find that you are more likely to own a page that is dead and invisible to your REAL fans.

Don’t believe the hype that social media is all about the numbers. That is definitely not what it was created for and I strongly believe that the founders of every social network are juggling hard between achieving greater numbers (a-la Facebook’s 1 Billion users) and  maintaining engagement/activity levels.

5. Posting without thinking

What can be worst than over-posting on Facebook? Posting without having second thoughts, without proper planning and treating your Facebook page with a lack of professionalism.

It’s unfortunate to say this but that is exactly what had happened to Amy’s Baking Company, a restaurant in Arizona.

Their restaurant sought help from Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares to help turn their restaurant around. In the episode, Gordon Ramsay decided to quit as both of the owners didn’t really want to change. One of the owners, Amy wouldn’t listen and actually blamed everybody else except her, even Mr Ramsay.

After the episode aired, many who watched it went onto social media, reddit and their Facebook page to share their thoughts. The owners got angry and viciously retaliated.

When done right, Facebook marketing can play a crucial part of any marketing campaign. It can be used to help grow your business, increase sales, grow customer loyalty and more.

Secret Tip :

I have joined some “secret Facebook groups” that indeed gave me some power up to my online marketing efforts.

I won’t mention the secrets and the features of these groups and it’s up to you discover these gems around Facebook (just ask to some of your friends if they are part of some of these). 😉

Twitter

Still the beast of the social media marketing, in my opinion. You MUST have an account there!

There are so many online tools connected to Twitter, that it’s impossible to mention all the most important ones!

But according to the topic of this article, I list below the ones I use when I want to share new posts.

JustRetweet

I guess you already know it, but if not, then you need to pay a visit to this website!

The rule is simple, you sign in with your social media account and while you share other members links, you earn credits, that you can use to share your own posts.

JustRetweet is connected to Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus.

You may set to which category you want to address your post and to which members, depending on their social media power (the numbers of their accounts).

Triberr

Triberr, I love it! 🙂

I know some bloggers who still do not understand the power of Triberr, but it’s a shame, because first of all there are many tutorials you can learn from.

Then you can simply search “Triberr” in Google to find out a big number of useful posts with great explanations of “How Triberr Really Works”, like this article :

How to Use #Triberr – Best #Social Network for #Bloggers?

In few words,  after signing up, you need to join tribes (or create your own one), in order to share members new posts available on your stream and have the possibility they will want to share your new articles.

Respecting the goal of this post, I am going to list the most powerful tribes I know (and I am member of – details and numbers updated to May 20th 2013) :

– Power Sharers : standard tribe, 316 members, 102 followers – 5,647,586 reach (contact me here – I am the chief of this tribe);

– Atomic Justice Tribunal : automatic tribe, 205 followers – 5,409,186 reach (contact @Justice Mitchell, chief of the tribe);

– Social Media SEO : automatic tribe, 378 followers – 3,933,753 reach (contact @Berrie Pelser, who is the chief of this tribe).

Conclusion

Social Media, like internet, continually grows and changes.

There is a huge number of social networks and interesting resources it’s worth the mention, but it’s impossible in just one simple blog post!

I hope to have you helped in any way with this article and please let me have your thoughts in the comments below.

Thanks!

Every business, no matter how well it is doing from a revenue standpoint, and no matter how many people are fans of it, has a collection of people who are not really fans of the business.

Whether they are jilted customers, competitors, or people who are simply looking to cause a little bit of trouble in their free time, these individuals can cause trouble for your brand.

This post will share why and how you can leverage your Facebook page to address negative feedback and commentary, and ease the potential blow to your business of negative feedback in general.

Publicly Address the Issues of Many in One Fell Swoop

It’s a good idea to publicly address issues your customers face.

Aside from fringe cases, typically if one person is having an issue with your product or service, others might, too—this is an opportunity to address the potential issues of many in one fell swoop.

Additionally, customers will appreciate the speed with which you respond to negative feedback and prioritize resolution, and they will respect your honesty in front of the masses.

Have Your Fans and Positive Customers Help You

If a customer is saying they don’t like your product for some reason, enlist the customers who do like your product to post positive feedback to your site that nicely (and ideally truthfully) contradicts the issue.

Your fans will be supportive when you ask them to, and will appreciate that they can aid a company they like in sharing their own positive experience with your product or service.

Get More “Likes” on Facebook—It Will Serve You Well

As stated in this article, asking your website audience to “like” you is a great way to get more Facebook “likes.”

Chances are good that if they like you enough to visit your website, not only will their support show by increasing your Facebook fan number (which looks good to doubters), but they might also support you with positive feedback that counteracts the impact of negative feedback.

Another great suggestion for getting “likes” is to advertise on Facebook. It’s relatively inexpensive, and a great and quick way to garner new fans.

Offer Free Product to Frustrated Customers

Offer to send your frustrated customer a new and updated version of the product to show your appreciation for their patronage—this will go a long way with both your customer and other Facebook fans, as well as other potential customers who see your page but are not yet fans.

All will see that customer service is of the utmost importance to you, even in times of customer frustration.

Be Nice

Being nice can take you a long way with your customers.

Everyone makes mistakes, and customers will be far more likely to respond positively to you, even in a negative situation, if you handle it nicely and with positivity.

Respond in a Timely Manner

For those who use your Facebook page as a customer service path, ensure that you are timely in your responses.

These customers will appreciate that, and may return the favor by encouraging a future frustrated customer back on track if a negative post appears on your Facebook page down the road.

In general, every business should have a Facebook page. Fans like to follow a business’s successes and support you when they can.

Those who “like” you feel a part of something when they get to share in the daily goings-on of your business.

Nurture this audience and pay attention to their feedback—respond in a timely manner to them, and some of them will likely return the favor by aiding you when other customers post negative feedback.

The new Timeline layout for pages in Facebook is an important resource for page managers who work with different Facebook apps. It gives them a wonderful opportunity to highlight the application tab for enhanced level visibility and boost click though rates. With the Timeline page, the brands have the opportunity to use different images to promote better offerings and thus create visual interest. The below are some of the best ways to enhance your Facebook Timeline Page with images.

facebook cover photo

The cover photo

It is considered as the biggest branding opportunity for businesses under the Facebook Timeline Page. Here you get an opportunity to upload a single image of 851 by 315 pixel area. So while creating this cover photo image, Facebook has a couple of do’s and don’t’s as given below:

Do’s

  • Make sure you use unique kind of image which portrays your page. This photo could be any popular image of your product. You need to be innovative and play with images so that your target audience simply responds in a better way.
  • You need to use cover photo to portray a robust visual impact over your page by simply supporting it with a product image, lifestyle imagery, or via any description of your products/services.

Don’ts

  • You are not supposed to carry out ads, promotions or coupons over here.
  • It should not carry any price information like download from the site or 50 percent off etc.
  • No contact details like the web address, email, and phone numbers should be incorporated in it.
  • Any call of action messages like Tell your friend, Grab it now, is simply not allowed in this space.

The profile picture

According to the Facebook, the profile picture is actually a 125 pixel square image area which is present in the cover page area located at the lower left corner area. The profile picture has three different roles to play. It is vital to consider all these three situations while creating the profile picture graphic. It should be done in such a way that the cover photo should blend properly with the cover picture. A few of the best examples include the profile pictures from brands like Ben & Jerry, Macy and Old Spice.

Putting a smart kind of integration over your cover photo and profile picture could be a challenge thing for you. For better understanding, you should check the above enlisted examples and dig deep inside these images. There are certain rules to follow while working with your profile pictures. These include uploading the required pixel based images along with putting the picture graphic as square.

Custom Tab images

This is among the major enhancements of Timeline page, wherein you can see Facebook moving away your navigation and the custom tabs over the top and just below the cover picture. Earlier, the navigation seen was very small which came with a 15 by 16 pixel based icon having a tab name at the left column. Now you can see four different tabs notably portraying at 111 by 74 pixels along with the tab name given below the image.

There are few important guidelines which have to be kept in mind while working with the custom tab images as discussed below:

  • Reposition of the photos tab (which showcases the recent picture) is not allowed.
  • Displaying a maximum of four tabs is allowed which include the photo tab, while the remaining ones are displayed the moment any user clicks over the arrow icon given at the right of tag images.
  • Creating your own graphics for the custom tab images are allowed except the videos, photos, events, notes, and links belong to Facebook.

After following these guidelines, you can customize your custom tab images by the options given over different tabs shown over the Timeline page.

Highlighting different posts for visual impact

You can use Timeline for portraying user and page posts cluttered, counterintuitive, and confusing. Earlier, the users were able to see all the posts in chronological sequence, however, in the new Timeline format you could find the sequence in a broken shape and generally very difficult to follow. But the new page has several highlight features which can get rid of this chaos. You can highlight your page status by simply clicking over the star icon which is seen at the top area at the right side. When you highlight any of your page status, it simply comprises of two different columns in your Timeline. This helps in getting away from the monotony of the two columns along with pulling the attention of people towards that specific status. Highlighting is the best way to fight with the visual chaos of the layout of the new Timeline.

Creating milestone

The other way to get rid of the two column layout and to embark with a compelling outcome is to try the feature of milestone. You can create milestones for your brands by incorporating text and pictures for a number of important events and their related details. The classic examples are the pages from Ford, Macy and the New York Times. These brands have smartly used the milestone features in both the one and two column formats. In order to create a milestone over your Timeline Page, you can simply click over the Milestone option and start doing the needful.

Wrapping up

All the bigger brands and popular companies are seen using these ways to improve their Facebook Timeline Page with different images. Now, it’s your turn to try them out at your Facebook page and feel the difference.

With so many ways to promote your business these days it can be a little hard to find new and exciting ways to do so. But – you don’t have too. You see you can produce a very effective marketing campaign just by recycling your content. Throughout this blog I will show you some techniques that I have used in the past (in fact I think I am guilty of not doing it enough actually!) and hopefully you will then be able to go away and do it yourself.

No matter what your business model, as long as you have a product or service to offer you will be able to do this. For this example I will use my free marketing guide (nothing like a bit of self promotion!) But throughout this post you should imagine your own product.

social media content

The first thing I would probably do I set up a squeeze page for this – but this is not promotion. Promotion is getting people to this page. Once this is set up I would go about my ways of driving traffic here. And there are many ways!

So, my free marketing guide is an eBook about yep you’ve guessed it Internet marketing, mainly for newbies. It is an 87-page 99% text based eBook – covering everything one needs to know about making money from Internet marketing and affiliate marketing. Let’s see how I could perform an integrated campaign to promote this.

Flickr

Flickr is a photo sharing platform powered by Yahoo. My eBook has a whole host of valuable information in it, so it would be very easy to break this down into images with little ‘thought provoking’ phrases from the book and share this on Flickr.

You should take an active role in the groups and share your photos with anyone, if people want to use them great – it all adds to your profile awareness. Another platform for this is Pinterest, which is growing rapidly at the moment but is still invite only. If you have an account then you should follow the same steps with this.

You get the idea?

Slideshare

So, once you have developed a few pictures with some nice little ‘thought provokers’ on them it would be easy now to add these together with some more info and make them into a PowerPoint presentation. It’s all about breaking the content down. This could then be shared on Slideshare. If you can solve people’s questions or problems then you are on a winner. Putting a little presentation together with some information from your product will be of great benefit to you and the customer. Let’s take my free marketing guide again as the example for this. There is a section on email marketing and how to set up your account. This would be very straight forward to break this chapter down into several slides, and I could easily incorporate a few links to the website at the end for example. This presentation would not only serve a purpose to the customer but also would provide great promotion for me.

YouTube

So now on to the video giant that is YouTube – I’m sure you are all aware of this, but how do you use it for promotion? More specifically how would I use it to promote a marketing guide? Well, again quite simple – I already have the information; I just need to break it down.

I could quite simply get some royalty free music and talk over the top of it explaining ‘How to incorporate Amazon Affiliate links into your blog’ for example.  This could literally be just some images, some royalty free music and me talking over the top and all of a sudden you have a promo video – trust me it works. I will reiterate, if you can solve people’s questions or problems then you are on a winner.

Twitter, FaceBook & LinkedIn

Naturally I would also point to my websites with the above social media platforms. Little snippets of my eBook could be used as my ‘tweets’ for twitter – just remember Twitter only allows 140 characters so choose wisely. I once read that someone was going to ‘tweet’ their entire book over Twitter, I am not saying do this! I think this is a bad idea and you will most likely end up getting more no-follows than follows.

FaceBook and LinkedIn are great; I think they are most powerful when you participate in the groups and communities. Again, I could post snippets as a little teaser from my eBook and then guide them to the website or blog. Or even better, look at what people have asked in the group pages and try to answer them.

For example in an SEO group there may be someone who asks “How do I do my own SEO?” your response could be “SEO changes all the time, but there are some golden rules that you must stick to…..I have written a book about this actually you can check out this chapter at my blog page……..www.you-get-the-idea??”

So, there we have it. If you have picked up on the message in this blog then well done! You have just received a huge, profiting making plan to promote your business. If you have not picked up any ideas then I urge you to read it again. You will be able to apply these techniques in your business no matter what it is you do.

In this post I’ll show you, how I got 550 likes for my website (nopassiveincome.com) in two days.

First of all I want to mention that all Facebook users which liked my FB page are real users, which are interested in blogging and passive income. So no “fake” users, “black hat” users or even bought users.

Below I’ll show you 15 tips how to get more and more likes on Facebook. And be patient – the last one point is the most important and most effective 😉

How to Get Likes on Facebook

Offer Great Content on Your FB page

You can put here whatever you want – pictures, articles (notes), links, questions, videos. Important thing here is to mix various types of content.

Ask Your Users to Like Your Page

It’s very simple – you have a lot of regular readers, Twitter followers, email subscribers, or even friends on Facebook or on other social networks. Just ask them to like your FB page.

Make Contests on Your Facebook Page

People like contests. You can offer some prizes like ebooks, wallpapers or even money. But remember – contests on FB should be run only via 3rd part apps (it’s on Facebook rules).

Link to Your Facebook Page

You can link to your FB page from your own page, blog, email signature, twitter account or even from your guest post. But don’t overuse it.

Offer an Incentive to Like Your Page

It’s similar to running a contest, but you don’t need 3rd part apps and everyone is a winner 😉

Participate in FB Groups

If you have time, you can actively participate in related groups on Facebook. It really works – but a lot of time is needed to see effects.

Create Images with Call to Action

Prepare awesome image with call to action inside this image. It also works for infographics.

Write an Article “How to Get Facebook Likes”

People love (and hate) read “How to” articles. So, fill it with great content and here you are – some more FB users will like your page

Buy Likes for Your Facebook Page

I don’t recommend this method because bought users may not interact with your other fans. On the other hand – there is a lot of sites which offer paid likes…

Exchange Likes with Other Facebook Users

It is very simple – you like someone’s page and in exchange you get like from him/her.

Install Like Box Widget or Like Button on Your Page

Make it as simple as possible to like your page. Sometimes people want to like your FB page, but they don’t know how to do it…

Beg for Likes by Sending Spam Messages

Black Hat Ways for Getting Facebook Likes

(Un)fortunately I don’t know such methods 😛

Ask for Likes from The Real Life

Facebook is the most popular social network. And it is popular not only on the Internet, but also in real life. So you can ask for likes also in the offline word, for example on:

  • Business cards
  • Ads on newspapers, radio and TV
  • Shows and conferences
  • Company paper
  • Your own car

Facebook Ads!

Yes, this is my secret. This is the most effective way on getting Facebook likes. You may think “yes, maybe it’s effective, but it must be very expensive…”

Not at all. I spent 9.08$ for getting 324 clicks (in pay per click model) and 542 new likes for my site. So one like costs me about 0.0167$. Not bad… And it took me two days…

Of course Facebook propose higher price for one click (for me it was 0.5-1.2$) but you can change it and set a price you can afford.

Some more benefits of Facebook Ads:

-you can show your ads to people based on their age, location, nationality, interests and other features

-very fast effect of your actions

-very simple (comparing to Google AdWords)

-cheaper (than Google AdWords)

-except credit cards they accept PayPal and Facebook coupons

-there are also Facebook coupons which you can get for free or buy for few bucks. For example I bought a Facebook coupon (worth 30Euro=37,29$) for 6$…

-Each Facebook page, which has more than 400 likes, can promote (for 5$ or 10$) their last post among their fans. It is also one way to reach more likes for your page. I didn’t try it yet, but I definitely plan to do it in the next few months.

And what are your tips in getting Facebook fans or likes? Share them all below in the comments. And of course like our page 😉
