Lennon intuitively understood what Brand You is all about. He was a true provocateur and pamphleteer, so blogging would have come naturally to him — as it has to several of the great rockers. I often wonder where he would have landed as a political activist — or simply as a political observer. I often blog about the political (or spiritual) views of Lennon that were evolving throughout the 70s.

I agree completely. His posts would end up in books one day! Speaking of which, he has books of his poems and stories – I suppose it is the closest medium to a blog that was available at the time. More power to him 😉

I am a firm believer that one niche cannot ever be over-saturated – there’s always going to be the one guy who comes in and changes everything up. The saturation is really just a term we use to describe a niche without that game-changer 😉

Hi Joe,

John Lennon is actually a very unique character. He not only had a different perspective and voiced it out loudly, but he also immortalized many of his opinions through his songs. If he was a blogger, I firmly believe his points would be controversial as he is the type who never submits to conformity.

True, uniqueness is critical to succeeding as a blogger. Sometimes you may have to blog in a saturated niche where there is almost nothing left unsaid – your differentiation will then come as a result of the voice and style you achieve.

You are telling the same things, but in a new and exciting way!

You’re very welcome, Erik. I think it’s kind of ironic how everybody tries to be like the “Pro Bloggers/A-listers” so they can have similar success. The changes of the same method working for two different people is slim – you’ll never be able to compete at the exact same level with the exact same tone of skill. Thanks for the comment 😉
