Images in this category are from the photo sharing website Flickr.com, but have been uploaded directly to Commons and not through the Flickr2Commons system. As Flickr allows the uploaders to change their licensing at any time, it is necessary to confirm the copyright status of these images as acceptable on the Commons. This is done by the bot FlickreviewR. However, images with licenses that could not be confirmed by the bot are listed here for manual review by administrators or trusted users.

Instructions for administrators and trusted users

  1. If the image is currently available on Flickr under a license which is allowed on the Commons then modify the review template to {{flickrreview|YourUsername|Date}}. If license on Flickr is allowed on Commons but does not match the one on Commons then update the license tag on the Commons image to match the Flickr one and modify the review template to {{flickrreview|YourUsername|Date|changed=Old license}}. Both versions places the image in Category:Flickr images reviewed by trusted users.
  2. If the image is currently available on Flickr with a license which is not acceptable on Commons, do not update the license tag. Instead modify the review tag to {{flickrreview|YourUsername|Date|CurrentFlickrLicense}}. This places it in Category:Possibly unfree Flickr images.
  3. If the license is allowed on the Commons, ensure the author is properly attributed and that there is no reason to suspect the author doesn't own the image. See Commons:Questionable Flickr images for a list of questionable Flickr accounts.
  4. If you can not locate the image on Flickr you can modify the review template to {{Flickr no source|YourUsername|Date}}. This places the image in Category:Unsourced Flickr images checked by trusted user.
  5. Please leave a comment on the photo (a Flickr account is required), such as the one proposed on this page, to confirm that the photographer did not make a mistake in their license selection and to encourage them to join our community.
